The stand is a dedicated computer that communicates with the pipettes and OneLab server. It recognizes the pipettes by their serial number, charges them, and monitors their status in real time, including relaying calibration data and errors to OneLab by secure, encrypted communication. Most importantly – at each protocol step during experiment execution – it processes OneLab instructions, setting the required parameters of the relevant pipette accordingly. For example, it defines aspiration volumes, dispensing volumes, and tip ejection as and when required.
